Pratt, Margaret (24 Augl 1926)

An event which comes as a surprise to most people in this vicinity took place at the First Methodist Church at Stillwater, Minn., on Monday, Aug. 24th, 1926, when Miss Margaret Pratt was united in marriage to Mr. Leonard H. Chatterson, Rev. J. H. Chatterson performing the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a becoming navy blue ensemble suit with hat to match and was attended by the groom's sister, Miss Dorothy Chatterson who wore a brown suit and hat.

The groom was attended by Mr. Sherrin Pratt, a brother of the bride. After the ceremony the bridal party which consisted of the members of the two families, spent the day in the Twin Cities and then repaired to the home of the groom's parents in Glenwood City, Wis., where a fine wedding supper was enjoyed. The following week they spent there and at the end of that time the groom left for Taylor University in Ind., to complete his college course and the bride took up her duties at Maiden Rock as a teacher. While the marriage is a surprise to many here, yet it was known to many of their intimate friends.

The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pratt and has lived most of her life here (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.). She is a graduate of our local high school and also the Eau Claire Normal and has taught one year successfully. She is a most admirable young lady, endowed with a kind and sunny disposition and well qualified to make a happy home.

The groom is the only son of Rev. and Mrs. Chatterson and is also a graduate of our local high school and a graduate of Taylor University. He is a young man of fine character and sterling worth and a dependable and conscientious worker. Both contracting parties have the respect and esteem of all who know them and the Tribune joins with a host of friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a life of happiness and prosperity. They will be at home at New Richmond where the groom has a good position, after June 25.
