Dawn J. Brey, age 66, of Greenwood, formerly of Somers, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Clark County Rehab & Living Center in Owen.

Dawn Jean Vanderhoof was born on January 20, 1956, in Neillsville, to Archie B. and Nila J. Dawn was united in marriage to Gary R. Brey on March 30, 1974, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sturtevant. They resided in Somers where Dawn held various jobs, but she spent many years as a floral designer at Steins Garden Center in Racine. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Somers Fire & Rescue Department, where she was a past president. In September 2014, they moved to Greenwood to be closer to family.

Dawn had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was known for her root beer floats, Christmas fudge and cookies.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 48 years, Gary, of Greenwood; her children: Gary Jr. (Jessica) of Hegg, and Jenny Davidson of Greenwood; eight grandchildren: Brianna Davidson (Devin Rose), Holly Davidson (Kyler), MariKate Davidson, Addison Davidson, Paetyn Davidson, Tony Chase (Emily Aerts), Coty (Mackenzie) Chase, Jake (Alyxis) Miller; seven great-grandchildren: Paisleigh Rose, Everlee Rose, Audri Chase, Tess Chase, Daisy Chase, Bailee Miller, Houston Miller, and one on the way; nine siblings: Ruben Vanderhoof of Stratford, Dennis Vanderhoof of Kenosha, Rick (Joan) Vanderhoof of Kenosha, Norman (Eileen) Vanderhoof of Marshfield, Annette Vanderhoof of Neillsville, Archie Jr. (Carolyn) Vanderhoof of Marshfield, David Vanderhoof of Marshfield, Nancy (Brian) Dupee of Arpin, Lisa (Mike) Lyons of Loyal, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends, and her dog, Ricky. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law, Russell Brey.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery.
