The Ernest Sanger Family in 1927 posing by the old familiar Model T belonging to Emma's father, Oscar Franke. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sanger spent childhood years in Fremont Township, and then 42 years of their married life farming 80 acres a few miles away from Chili. After 15 retirement years near Loyal, Emma Sanger has now returned to Chili, and is living in the former Herman Montag store. (Elmer lives in Rockford; Lawrence is a Chaplain, now in Germany; Evelyn is Mrs. Alvin Roehl, Chili - a Loyal school teacher; and Mildred is Mrs. Norman Faber, rural Granton).
