JOSEPH MOTSCHENBACHER SR. PASSES AWAY

Joseph Motschenbacher Sr. died at his home in this village early Thursday morning February 14, at the age of 81 years 11 mon., 15 days.

Deceased was born in Bavaria, Germany on Feb. 29th , 1836. Her was united in marriage to Miss Dorathy Friedman at Bavaria, June 14, 1861.

In 1874 they came to America, coming first to Buffalo Co. Wis. where they moved to Clark Co. settling on a farm south west of this village. Four years ago they moved to this village where they have since resided. Mr. Motschenbacher was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor and had many friends.

He leaves to mourn his loss his aged wife, two sons Christ of Alma Center, Joseph Jr. of Loyal, one daughter Mrs. Louis Schweiger of Loyal and nine grand-children, nine children having died in infancy. The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in this village at nine o’clock Saturday morning, Rev. Joseph F. Stenz officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
