Hutchins, Lorinda A. (8 Apr 1848 - 8 OCT 1923)

Lorinda A. Sheldon was born April 8, 1848 at Cascade, Sheboygan Co., Wis. Early in childhood, with her parents, she moved to Dundee, Fond du Lac Co., Wis., where she received her education, and teaching school in that county for some time. On March 27, 1870 she was united in marriage to Ransom E. Hutchins, where they resided in the township of Osceola, Fond du Lac Co. until April 1887 when the family moved to Clark County, Wis., settling on a farm in the town of Unity, where they engaged in farming for 28 years. March 1915 they retired from farm life, moving to the village of Loyal where she passed away at her home Monday, Oct. 8th, 1923.

Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1917. Eight children were born to this union, which mourn her loss are: Warren and Clarence of Unity, Mrs. Eliza Nichols of Loyal, Mrs. Anna Smith of Gettisburg, S.D., Herbert of Tacoma, Wash., Oscar of Loyal, Mrs. Evelyn Dietsche of Riplinger and Mrs. Lela Lyon of Hingham, Mont. Also 26 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, 5 half-sisters, 2 half-brothers and a host of dear friends.

The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, Thursday afternoon, interment being in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. James officiating.
