Hello: I am looking for a Frances Dusak who owed a farm in 1930 Washburn township Clark County, WI.  I have the names of all their children from the 1930 census (posted above). I as well have Frances' birth date and Emil's. They were from Chicago and then moved to Washburn around 1922. I would like to find out were Emil is buried. Frances married again to a man name Harry Dimler around 1945. Emil died in the early 60's. I visited Frances on the farm when I was a young boy. I can't seem to find when she died or where she is buried. Her maiden name is Sterba. Any assistance appreciated.  Thanks, Fred

Emil is buried in the Neillsville City Cemetery. In the same plot, there is a Mrs. F. Dusak, whom I would assume is his wife Frances. I've put in a request with the cemetery sexton to verify this and will let you know what I find out. Also, Crystal Wendt has been transcribing obits from the Clark Co. Press and her next batch is for the 1925-1930 time frame. She may very well come across something helpful, but won't likely be addressing that project until fall.

We'd appreciate any records you can supply (census, bios, obits) on this family as I see the site resources are limited. You can also order micro-films through your public library to get the obituary notices. Hi Janet: Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I will be visiting the Neillsville this Wednesday. I have time off for work so I will be visiting the cemetery. Hopefully I can make the correct connections and find Frances, Emil their son Emil and her second husband Harry Dimler. I have a ton of info on the Dusaks/Sterba as the Sterba sponsored my great grandparent to come to America in 1900. We will be chatting. Thanks again... Fred

Fred, I heard from the Neillsville City Hall, keeper of the Neillsville Cemetery Records today. This is what she said:

Emil is buried in grave 3, and was buried in 1928.

Frances Touska (Mrs. Alphonse) is buried in grave 4, and was buried 2/26/1972.

Also in this lot: Anna & Carl Haberland in graves 1 & 2

This doesn't seem to match with your Emil. So, I don't know quite what to think of this.  Janet

Hi Janet: I did not make it to Neillsville today but to Tomah. As a matter of fact I am writing this from the Tomah public library. Maybe we can make it to Neillsville tomorrow. In any case you may have given me the information that I am looking for. Emil in 1928 may have been buried by himself in a different part of the cemetery. I have the numbers of the plots where Francis Dusak, Emil Dusak her son died in 1964 and her second husband Henry Dimler. I would need to know the plot number of where Emil (who died in 1928 is buried?) Hopefully we can connect and solve this mystery. Once I find Emil Sr. I will have completed my findings on the Sterba Family. I will hand it all over to you once I organize everything... Sterba was Frances Dusak maiden name. That is all for now... Fred, The lot Ellen (the gal at Neillsville City Hall) was referring to was N-130. All of the burials she mentioned were in that plot.
