Robert Friedrichsen

Robert "Bob' H. Friedrichsen, 74, Marshfield, and Arizona City, Ariz., passed on to eternal life peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, April 17, 2004, at his home in Arizona. A celebration of life was held Monday, April 19, 2004, at Central Lutheran Church, Arizona City, Ariz. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, April 22, with a prayer service at 4 p.m., at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield. Following a 10 a.m. visitation, a celebration of life will be held Friday, April 23, at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Music will be provided by Mary Castner, organist. Entombment will be in Hillside Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Marshfield, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #54; Marshfield: Pallbearers will be Terry Friedrichsen, Rodney Friedrichsen, Bryan Friedrichsen, Dennis Friedrichsen, Tami Friedrichsen, Kelly Friedrichsen, Gary Beardmore, Adam Beardmore, and Ryan Beardmore.

Robert H. Friedrichsen was born Sept. 8, 1929, in a farmhouse near Danbury, Iowa, to Jens and Bertha (nee Schoenfeld), Friedrichsen, and was baptized into Christ hortly after. He married Corinn L. Bruhn on Nov. 4, 1951. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for 52 years. In 1952; he was called to serve his country in the Korean War. After his discharge in 1954, he farmed in Iowa with his wife until 1957, when he moved his family to a farm near Granton. In 1963, he started Mid-State Sales along with his partner and friend Cecil Jones and specialized in farm auctions. Farming always stayed close to his heart. He enjoyed special working relationships and friendships with Ken Shong and Keith Stump. He wanted to give back to the communities he loved. In Marshfield, he worked with the National Farm Medicine Center, where he organized the Auction Qf Champions, and he was instrumental in the growth and success of the market animal sale at the Central Wisconsin State Fair, which benefited many young farmers.

He served on the boards for the Arizona City Club and the Arizona City Country Club. He enjoyed splitting his time between Marshfield and Arizona City, playing golf and cards with his many dear friends. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield, an associate member Qf Central Lutheran Church, Arizona City, the Elks Club #665, Marshfield, Fraternal Order of Eagles Badger Aerie #624, Marshfield, and the American Legion Post #54, Marshfield. He was proud to be a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was deeply loved by his children and his grandchildren were the joY Qf his life.

Survivors include his children, Terry (Stephanie) Friedrichsen, Tucson; Ariz., Rodney (Karen) Friedrichsen, Marshfield, Cathy (Gary) Beardmore, La Crescent, Minn., and Bryan Friedrichsen, Arizona City, Ariz.; five grand- children, Dennis Friedrichsen, Tami Friedrichsen, Adam Beardmore, Ryan Beardmore and Kelly Friedrichsen; his sister, Gloria Schmidt, Omaha, Neb.; his brotbers, Raymond (La Vonne) Friedrichsen, Mapleton, Iowa, and Richard (Janis) Friedrichsen, Minneapolis; Minn.; a'sister-in-law, Sue Friedrichsen, Ute, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and his very special "adopted" daughters, Jeanine, Jennifer, and Grace.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Corinn; one brother, Roger; and one brother-in-law, Howard Schmidt.

Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made in his name to the National Farm Medicine Center, 1000 N. Oak Ave., Marshfield, WI 54449.
