Jenkins, Ada A. (16 Feb 1867 - 22 Jan 1929)

Mrs. Franklin Sweigert of Adamstown, Pa., sends the Press the following obituary of her mother:

"Ada Adel Baker was born Feb. 16, 1867, at Loyal, Clark County, Wis., being the daughter of Josiah and Mary E. Bliss Baker. In 1888 she was united in marriage to Charles M. Wheelock, now deceased. To this union were born these children: Charles Myron Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; Linda Mable, wife of Franklin Sweigert of Adamstown, Pa.; Goldine, wife of Horace E. Rodman of Neillsville.

In 1905 she was married to Newton Jenkins of Neillsville, and later they moved to the Dakotas, where they lived several years, finally moving east to Pennsylvania where she spent the last four years of her life.

She died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1929 of bronchial pneumonia, preceded by flue.

Besides the children mentioned she is survived by her aged father, 95 years of age and the following named brothers and sisters: Elmer of Bethel, Wis.; Arthur and Alvin of Mosinee; Newell of Oshkosh; Charley of Puyallup, Wash.; William of Melrose, Jackson Co., Wis.; Seth of Owen; Mary, Wife of Byron Pedrick of Marathon Co.; and Lizzie Lincoln of Monrovis, Calif.; also 20 grandchildren and three step-children, Herbert Wheelock of Woodman, Colo.; Willis Wheelock of Los Angeles, Calif., and Clarissa, address unknown.

She devoted the last few years of her life to Christian work, being a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of reading, Pa. The funeral services were held at this church, conducted by Elder R. B. Clapp, the pastor. The choir rendered her favorite hymns, selected by her shortly before her death: "Anovern", "Resurrection" and "Asleep in Jesus."
