Glass, Mercedes (Marriage - 10 April 1926)

Mr. Viertel and Miss Mercedes Glass were quietly married at a parsonage in Stevens Point on April 10, Rev. Werth officiating. The marriage was not generally known here and came as a surprise to Neillsville people when the young couple came to the city Saturday, called here by the illness of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Fred Stelloh. Mr. Viertel returned the next day to Stevens Point and his wife remained with her mother until Tuesday night.

The bride is one of this city’s most talented young ladies. She graduated from Neillsville high school in the class of 1924, taught school for a time and then studied art at Stevens Point Normal School and there met Mr. Viertel. He is a realtor, and is also associated with his father I a tourist came business on the outskirts of Stevens Point. The bride and groom will reside in that city and are now building a new home there.

We offer congratulations and good wishes.
