Order of the Eastern Star (21 December 1972)

Mrs. Ellen Palmer was elected to succeed Mrs. Emilie Albrecht as worthy matron of Carmi Chapter, No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, at a recent chapter meeting. Fred Palmer was chosen to serve with his wife as worthy patron. He succeeds Richard Albrecht. The Palmers, like the Albrechts, have served previously as worthy matron and worthy patron of Carmi Chapter.

Other new officers are Mrs. Barbara Henchen, associate matron, and her father, Albert Holt, associate patron.

Reelected to their offices were Mrs. Ruth Dern, treasurer; Mrs. Viola Sherren, Secretary; Mrs. Ruth Van Gorden, conductress; and Mrs. Hilda Lipscy, associate conductress.

Appointive officers will be named by the incoming worthy matron.

Installation ceremonies are tentatively set for Saturday, January 6, 1973.
