Stankiewicz, John (7 JUN 1876 - 22 Sep 1926)

John Stankiewicz, a well known farmer of the town of Levis, Clark County, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1926, after an illness of several weeks. While apparently in good health he had probably been ailing for some time, but had not been confined to his bed for more than two weeks.

Deceased was born in Poland, June 7, 1876. He came to this country when a small boy, with his parents, who settled at La Salle, Ill. About 30 years ago he came to Clark County. In Oct. 1902 he was married in Neillsville to Miss Stella Muznowsky, and they settled on the farm in Levis, which has been their home ever since. Mr. Stankiewicz was an industrious farmer, a kind husband and father, a fine neighbor and in every way a model citizen. His death is a serious loss to his family and the community. He is survived by his wife and six children: Martha, who works in Chicago; Val, Pearl, John, Helen, and Roma at home.

The funeral was held Friday at St. Mary's Church, Neillsville, of which deceased was a most faithful member. Rev. Father Weber officiated.

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. Martin Stankiewicz, a brother from Chicago; Mrs. C. Kaza and daughters and Roman Siekaerka of La Salle, Ill.; Mrs. Frank Michalski and Mrs. Peter DeSitter of Chicago; Mrs. A. Fabrycki of Oshkosh; Mrs. Helen Ruiz of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Piekarksi and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. John Czechowicz and family of Wausau, Wis.; Mrs. Joe Pryzmues and children and two sisters from Minneapolis, Minn.
