Lowe, Isabelle (28 AUG 1924)

On Thursday morning at 8:30, August 28th, 1924, were gathered at the hospitable home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lowe, on Grand Av., Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., a number of near relatives and friends of the family to assist in the marriage of Miss Isabelle Lowe, elder daughter of the home, and one of Neillsville's most worthy young ladies, and Mr. Thomas J. Cochrane of Morgantown, West Virginia, who is one of the chemists in the agricultural department in the state "U" located in that city.

Promptly at the hour appointed the young couple approached the hymeneal altar to the soft strains of Lohengrin's Wedding March played by Mr. Walter Pretorius of Dover, Ohio. They were received at the altar by their attendants, Miss Margaret Lowe, sister of the bride, and Mr. William Hodge of Morgantown, W. Va., a school friend of the groom. The minister, Rev. G. J. Donnell, read the impressive ring ceremony in the terms of which the contracting parties mutually took upon themselves the nuptial vows, and were pronounced husband and wife, after which divine blessings were invoked that their hearts and lives should be united in all the grace and true affection of a happy marriage.

About the altar and around the room were arranged banks of ferns, gladiolas and smilax, and other groups of flowers. After the ceremony and congratulations, the company repaired to the dining room where a delightful four-course breakfast was served. When the bridal cake was served, it fell to the lot of Miss Esther Forslun to find the ring which was hidden therein.

The bride wore a beautiful gown of white crepe chiffon, without trimming, made long, just escaping the floor. Her veil of Brussels net draped scarf-like over her hair fell gracefully entrain. The sleeves were long and fitted. A low round neck was made more becoming because of the beautiful, long rope of tiny pearls she wore, a gift from the groom. She carried a bouquet of white asters with showers of white ribbons and rose buds.

The bridesmaid was gowned in a pretty gray voile, with black and white trimmings. She carried a bouquet of purple asters and ferns.

The out of town guests were: Mr. William Hodge, Morgantown, W. V.; Mr. Frank Zippy, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Forslun and daughter Ester of Ironwood, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pretorius, Dover, Ohio; Miss Helen Counsell, Miss Hazel Counsell and Miss Stella Counsell, Waukesha, Wis.; Miss Frane, Hartland, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Cochrane left shortly after the wedding, driving by auto to Lake Echo, where they will remain for some few days and after visiting other places, will return and spend a few days with the bride's parents here, after which they will return to the University of West Va., where they each will resume their work as instructors in that institution.
