Greeler, Frank Charles (22 July 1897 - 18 April 1925)

Frank C. Greeler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Greeler of the town of York, died at St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, at 2 :12 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 1925.

Frank Charles Greeler was born at Harvard, Illinois, July 22, 1897. In 1902 he came with his parents to the town of York where they bought a farm, and there Frank grew to manhood on the home farm. He attended country school, also three years at St. John’s Lutheran school and latter attended Neillsville High school for two years. In 1920 he began work here at the carpenter trade and continued two years in this vicinity and then went to Harvard, Illinois. He stayed about one year there and then went to Milwaukee where he worked as finisher until March 1, 1925, when he was taken sick with a mastoid abscess, and went to St. Mary’s hospital in Milwaukee. Later serious infection set in and all efforts to save his life were of no avail.

Frank was one of the fine young men of whom the people of this vicinity were justly proud. He was upright, honorable and industrious. He will be greatly missed by his many friends for his kind and loving disposition.

He leaves to mourn his death, his father, mother, two brothers, George and Edward, and two sisters, Darlene and Florence, Mrs. Geo. Rupprecht. The funeral is held today, Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. H. Brandt officiating.

The pall bearers are Oscar Thompson, Victor Krejie, Clark Diercks, Edward Knoll, Arthur Kotchy and Ernest McKimm. Those from away attending the funeral are: Mr. Willie Greeler and Mrs. Lizzie Greeler of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Mrs. Ervin Van Bogarb from Harvard, Illinois; Mr. Paul Steinberg of Milwaukee; and Mr. Herbert Trey and Mrs. John Frey, of Beaver Dam.
