Frantz, Gladys (Marriage - 14 July 1923)

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad G. Frantz was the scene of a pretty home wedding at 5 o’clock Saturday evening, July 14, when their daughter Gladys was united in marriage with Mr. Victor Hetland of Fennimore, Wisconsin. Rev. F. R. Schedtler, pastor of the Lutheran church of Fennimore performed the ceremony. Mr. Carl Postel of Fennimore was best man and Miss Isabel Lowe of Neillsville, was bridesmaid. Only relatives and a few close personal friends of the bride and groom were in attendance.

A bountiful supper was served after the ceremony and later in the evening the bride and groom departed by auto for a trip through northern Wisconsin.

The bride is a young lady who stands high in the estimation of this community. She was educated in Neillsville Schools, graduating from the teachers training course of the high school. For several years she taught successfully in the country schools of this vicinity, being considered one of the best teachers in the county. She then went to Fennimore where she was given a position in the office of the Fennimore Times, which she filled most acceptable until her marriage. She is a refined young lady and has a sincerity of manner that makes friends wherever she goes. The groom is a stranger to people here, but is a young man of fine appearance and stands well in his own community. He is in the garage business in Fennimore. Upon their return from their wedding trip near the end of this month, they will be at home in Fennimore.

To them extended the best wishes to this community.

Those from away who attended the wedding were S. A. Hetland of La Crosse, father of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Tolef Hetland and three daughters of Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hetland of Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Nels O. Lavold of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Roethe and family of Fennimore; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. F. Frantz and children of Fennimore, Mr. Carl Postel and Robert Gerhardt of Fennimore.
