Huckstead, Florence (22 Augl 1923)

A pretty home wedding was celebrated at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Huckstead Tuesday evening, Aug. 22, 1923, at 8:00 o'clock, in which their daughter, Miss Florence and Elmer G. Counsell, both of this city (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. At the appointed hour a large company of the relatives of the contracting parties had gathered and while the strains of the Soldermans' Swedish Wedding march were softly played by Mrs. Donnell, the young couple, preceded by their attendants, Mr. and Mrs. John Counsell, brother and sister-in-law tot he groom, took their places before the hymenal altar, where they mutually took upon themselves the obligations and pledge which made them man and wife, Rev. G. J. Donnell officiating.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Huckstead, and is highly esteemed by all who know her. She graduated from the Neillsville High School some four years ago, and has taught most of the time since she finished high school.

The groom is the son of Mrs. George Huckstead of Marshfield, and is favorably known here, where he has resided for a number of years.

The bride, gowned in an autumn brown canton crepe, beautiful embroidered in bars with bronze iridescent beads; the blouse was made long with V front of soft lace in a rich cream color, and she carried an arm bouquet of pink and white midget gladiolas and California fern, from which was a shower of tiny bows and knots of narrow white ribbon falling gracefully over the front of her gown.

After the ceremony and the congratulations, the bridal couple led the way into the dining room, where a delicious and bounteous repast were served. The flower decorations were gladiolas arranged in beautiful effect, pink and white in the living room, while red and white were used in table decorations.

After an evening of most pleasant fellowship with the friends who attended the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Counsell drove in their auto to the home of the groom's mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. George Huckstead at Marshfield, where they remained for a short stay and then went to Oconomowoc, Wis. and other points, where they are spending ten days or so with relatives and friends.

The young couple will be at home after their return, to their friends at the home of the bride's parents in Neillsville, where they expect to be for the present.
