Wilcox, Wisconsin: January 29, 1894

Wilcox is to have a new postmaster soon. E.M. Rowe visited the county seat Wednesday last. We experienced another cold snap the past week. We would like to see a correspondent from Loyal in the Press. Levi Palmer, of Hemlock, is calling on his many friends and relatives here. The League sociable and entertainment was pronounced a success by all. The family of John Vandeberg were afflicted with the measles last week. Vonhinklesteinhousenblosr and best ______ dined with his brother Levi and wife yesterday. While rolling up logs at Hein last Tuesday, Will Kettle was knocked insensible while riding a rope. Charlie Campbell had a valuable horse injured a few days ago so he was unable to be used for some time. L.A. Crocker has changed his boarding place and is now the guest of Mr. George Lindsley. He wants to be near the post office. Mrs. Letty Bowers, traveling agent for firms in Sheboygan County, stopped off to visit with friends and relatives a few days this week. Fulwiler Brothers have taken nine acres of timber to cut up into wood and bolts and the sweet music of their saws and axes can be heard every day. Mrs. S.A. Wilcox, of Neillsville, formerly of this place has moved her household goods on the farm near by and expects to start soon for St. Louis, Missouri, where she intends to take up her abode with her daughter, Mrs. Mayerfelt.
