Moody, Mary L. (22 MAY 1851 - 28 FEB 1924) Mrs. C. M. Moody, who has been an invalid for two years past, died at her home in this city at 10 o'clock p.m., Feb. 28, 1924. Mrs. Moody had had suffered three strokes of paralysis, the last one coming about a week before her death, left her practically helpless.

Mary Luella Birdsell was born May 22, 1851 at Okauchee, Wis. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Alonzo Wells, July 4, 1869, at Neosho, Wis. She continued to live there until Mr. Wells' death in 1905. About three years later she was married to Casius M. Moody, and they came to Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. to live. Mr. Moody died in Dec. 1920. About two years ago her health failed, and her nice, Mrs. H. C. Peterson and her husband broke up their home in Minneapolis so that Mrs. Peterson could come here to take care of her, which was done faithfully and well until the end.

Mrs. Moody was a member of the Methodist Church at Neosho. She was a good Christian woman, kind and helpful to all about here, and did well her work in life. She was a member of the Relief Corps for many years and took a great interest in its patriotic work. She leaves no near relatives, except Mrs. Peterson and her little son. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon, Rev. Longenecker officiating and members of the W. R. C. being in attendance.
