Meihak, William (3 NOV 1855 - 19 NOV 1923)

William Meihack died Nov. 19, 1923, aged 68 years and 16 days. He was born in Germany Nov. 3, 1855. In 1877 he was married to Albertina Dux. They came to the U. S. in 1882. After living about two years in Merrillan, Wis., they moved to the town of Weston, Clark County and engaged in farming. He remained a resident of that town the rest of his life. Except the past two years when eh spent most of the time at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard Beyer in Pine Valley. He was an industrious man an d developed a good farm, and was in every way a good citizen. For the past 10 years his health has been poor and he was not able to attend to his work as in early life. Mrs. Meihak died in 1917. Of the 12 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Meihak, three died in infancy. One daughter, Elsie, aged 22, died in 1912. Those who survive are Gusta, Mrs. Isaac Roberts of Oshkosh; Bertha, Mrs. Chris Larson of Marshfield; Max Meihak of Pollock, S.D.; Lizzie, Mrs. Henry Ritschke of Oshkosh; Hattie, Mrs. Richard Beyer, Neillsville; Annie, Mrs. Frank Kuhl, Marshfield; Warner Meihak, Marshfield; Willie Meihak of the home farm; Albert Meihak, Neillsville. Al the children were present at the funeral, which was held Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Pine Valley Lutheran Church, Rev. Reiff of Granton officiating.
