Thompson, Frederick (15 Dec. 1901 - 19 Oct. 1922)
Frederick Johan Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thompson of the town of York, died at the hospital in Eau Claire Oct. 19, 1922, after an illness of more than a year. Frederick was born in Chicago, Dec. 15, 1901. He came to Clark County with his parents and after going through school he worked on the home farm till the fall of 1920, when he got a position at the home of General Chas. Dawes, of Evanston, Ill. Here his health failed and in September, 1921, he came home for a rest. After a time he thought that he felt able to resume work; he returned to Chicago in October and secured a position with the Straus Loan Association. He worked there only two months and finding that his health was growing poorer he returned home and was taken to Mayo Bros. Clinic at Rochester, Minn., for more treatment. He had an operation on his throat, after which he returned home and continued to grow weaker. His parents took him to Eau Claire hospital for care and treatment, but he gradually failed until he died.
He was an industrious young man of excellent character and always was highly esteemed by his employers and associates. He leaves to mourn his early death his parents, seven brothers and five sisters.
The funeral was held Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. H. Brandt officiating.
