Scott, Florence Gertrude (1897?- 10 Sept. 1922)

Miss Florence Gertrude Scott, only daughter of Rev. Walter Trench Scott of Neillsville, died at Washington, D. C., Sunday, Sept. 10. She had been in poor health since last fall and her father had made arrangements to have her brought to Wesley hospital in Chicago for an operation, but the Washington physician advised delay and she seemed on the way to recovery, but was suddenly taken worse with fatal results.

Miss Scott was about 25 years of age. She was a teacher, but resigned her position to enter war work for the government, serving in several different departments. At the time of her death she was connected with the Treasury Department. The news of her death was received by her father Monday morning. The body was sent to Black River Falls where the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Besides her father and step-mother, deceased leaves five brothers to mourn her early death.
