Haslow, Bertha (2 OCT 1876 - 24 OCT 1922)

Mrs. Gus Haslow died at her home east of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. on Tuesday, Oct. 24th, 1922. Death was due to ureic poisoning.

Bertha Scheel was born at Mayville, Dodge Co., Oct. 2, 1876 and was the daughter of Henry and Sophia Scheel. She came with her parents to Clark County when about eight years old.

On May 18, 1898 she was united in marriage to Mr. G. Haslow at Loyal. To this union was born seven children who are at home and are as follows: Alvin, Paul, John, Arnold, Meta, Hilda and Emma. She also leaves, besides her husband, her mother, four brothers: Will of Green Grove, Otto, Unity, Ralph, beaver and Robert of York, also two sisters, Mrs. Ella Komis and Mrs. Emma Haslow, both of Beaver.

Mrs. Haslow has lived most of her life in this vicinity. Here she grew to girlhood, here she married and helped to establish a home of her own, here her busy life was spent and her faithful service rendered to the world. She was a devoted mother, a kind neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand and will be greatly missed in the home circle.

The funeral services were held at the local Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Johnson officiating. She was laid to rest in the Lutheran (Union) Cemetery.
