Young, August (14 MAR 1858 - 13 AUG 1922)
August Young was born in Two Rivers, Wis. on March 14, 1858. His death took place at the family residence on Sunday afternoon at 4:30. His age at the time of his death was 64 years, 4 months and 22 days.
On Jan. 1, 1889 he was united in marriage at Colby, Wis., to Mrs. Gusta Haupt, who with five children survive him. He is also survived by four step-children, six grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
The children are Rose, now Mrs. Lue Vogt, of Livingston, Mont., Tillie, now Mrs. Otto Lemke of Loyal, Gretchen, now Mrs. Roy Mingel of Baker, Mont., and Ed and Paul, both of Loyal.
The step-children are Fred Haupt of Loyal, Wm. Haupt of Valley City, N. D., Mrs. Albert Krueger of Columbus, Wis.
Mr. Young has been a resident of Clark County, Wis. for 42 years, coming here when this country was a wilderness and settling on the land east of Loyal, which later became one of the finest farms in the county and which he and his wife lived on until 2 1/2 years ago when they moved to the village to take life easier.
The deceased was an industrious hard working man and a good citizen. The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was largely attended by friends and old neighbors. Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
