Asa Wilson, Son, Die

Asa Delos Wilson passed away at his home in Miami, Fla., last Thursday afternoon, and a few hours later, Thursday evening, his son Merle, a veteran of World War I, died at the Veteran hospital in St. Paul.

Asa Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Wilson, was born on the old home farm, now owned by Fred Trachsel, Dec. 2, 1870. In the early '90s he found employment as fireman on the Wisconsin Central railway, now a part of the Soo system, and from 1898 until his retirement in 1940 he was an engineer on the line. He lived at Abbotsford, Chippewa Falls, and Minneapolis, as his runs in the service were changed. The latter city was his home from 1930 until his retirement. Florida has been the winter home of he and his wife since that time.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, three sons, ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Kreutzman, of Appleton; and two brothers, Sylvester and Orin.

The remains were brought to Chippewa Falls, where services were held Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment was in Mentor cemetery beside his first wife, who was Fannie Hobbs, of this village. Besides membesr of the family, a number of friends attended the committal service.

Merle Wilson was born at Abbotsford Dec. 8, 1900. He is survived by his wife, and the sisters and brothers. Death came after four weeks illness at the hospital. Burial was from St. Patrick's church in Eau Claire Monday forenoon.
