Krejci, Joseph L. (19 May, 1883- 10 Feb. 1922)
Jos. L. Krejci was born May 19,1883, in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County, Wisconsin, and after attending school he worked at farming for some time and later learned the carpenter trade, at which he worked for some years. He was married to miss Eva Vincent Dec. 22nd, 1916. Soon in 1917 they went onto a rented farm in the town of Fremont, which they meant to work together, but Mrs. Krejci’s health failed and she died on the 15th day of July, 1917. Mr. Krejci kept on working the farm with some success until his health began to fail a few months ago when he had to take to his bed and could not attend to his work any longer. About three weeks ago he was brought to the home of his brother, John Krejci, so that he might have better care. But in spite of all that loving hands could do for him he failed rapidly and death came to him Friday, Feb. 10th, 1922. Joe was kind-hearted to a large degree and it might truly be said that he saw no living thing suffer while he could give assistance. His many sterling qualities drew to him a host of friends. He was a Modern Woodman. He leave to mourn his loss two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. J. P. Lastofka of Neillsville, Mrs. Wm. O’Brien of York, John W. and Frank P. Krejci, both of York. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, burial taking place in the Neillsville Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Longenecker and the Woodmen at the grave.
