Aebersold, Carl (21 JUL 1871 - 15 DEC 1922)
The mortal remains of Carl Aebersold, whose sudden death was chronicled in the Enterprise last week, were laid to rest in the Mentor Cemetery last Tuesday afternoon. A large congregation of sorrowing friends assemble at the Reformed Church, where services were conducted by Rev. D. Grether and gathered with the bereaved one around the grave, to offer their sympathies and consolations to those who mourn the loss of a kind husband and father and an affectionate brother. The community has lost an honest and upright citizen in the death of this man.
Relatives from away who were present at the funeral were Albert Aebersold, a brother from Otis, Col., Mrs. A. Risser, Monroe, and Chris Bohren, Cloquet, Minn.
Carl Aebersold was born in Niederhuengen, Canton Bern, Switzerland, July 21, 1871, and died Dec. 15, 1922, at his farm near Humbird, Clark County, Wis., aged 51 years, 4 months and 24 days. He came to America in the spring of 1893, living in Blanchardville for a few years, and there he was married on May 3, 1904, to Marie Martha Aebersold. For the past ten years he and his family have resided in this vicinity. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sons, three sisters, and four brothers. Of the sisters and brothers, one sister, Mrs. Jacob Trachsel, and one brother, Albert, are in this country. The others are at the old home in Switzerland.
