Stallard, Henry Wallace (1941)

Leaves After 75 Years

Henry Stallard has left Humbird after a residence of 75 years in this vicinity. He made his decision after some of the infirmities of advancing age came upon him and also owing to illnesses which have afflicted him during the past year or more, and inadvisably of his trying to live alone. Mr. Stallard came to this vicinity with his parents when about 5 years of age. He lived on a farm west of town until reaching manhood, and lived in the village for many years, following the trades of carpenter and mason, in which he was quite expert. Up to a couple years ago he was very active and would knock out more work in a day than many men half his age. He has taken his tools and work bench and expects to do a bit of "tinkerin'." Mr. Stallard says that his new address is 1422 Menomonie St., Eau Claire, but Humbird is "home."

Mr. and Mrs. John Stallard, of Eau Claire were here Monday and completed moving his father's household effects to the city.
