The City of Owen and the residents of the area of Owen will again be served by a
shoe store. Within the last several weeks the Eldor Millers have taken over the
store (Larry’s Shoe Store) on Fifth Street, and ”hopefully” will be open for
business by January 1, 1978.
The shoe store will have again the Cobbler Shop run by Tony Ciokiewicz, and this
is now again in operation in the store at present, instead of Tony’s home.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldor and Sandra Miller moved to Owen from Ashland, Wisconsin,
where Mr. Miller had been an insurance salesman. They are now living in the
store until the upstairs apartment is empty, then they will move up there.
There are four Miller children, all who are now in the O-W School System, Marvin
age 12, John 10, Dawn 8, and Tanya 5.
