Metcalf, Walter (29 May 1899- 5 Dec. 1921)

A message to Mrs. J. Albeiter, Sr., received Monday from Minneapolis stated that her son: Walter Metcalf, had died there in the General hospital Dec. 5. It was learned later that the cause of his death was meningitis. He was taken to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day.

He was born in the town of Hewett May 29, 1899, and grew to manhood here. Several months ago he left to work in Minneapolis.

H.H. Eberhartd went to Minneapolis Monday and brought the body to Neillsville for burial.

Besides his mother, deceased leaves three brothers; Dwight Metcalf, of Ashland, and Eli Metcalf of Humbird; four sisters, Mrs. John Albeiter, Jr., Neillsville, Mrs. Henry Herian, Neillsville, Mrs. W. J. Jones, Gregory, S.D. and Mrs. Murray of Long Beach, Cal.
