The Bauman brother’s families associated with the West Side Church was one of many families who had roots in Clark County, but chose to move from the county to live elsewhere in the United States. There were two Bauman brothers who were married with children, as members of the West Side Church. This file contains information on the brothers, their parents and their siblings.

Parents are Carl1 Alexander and Sophie (Ziesel) Baumann. Carl was born 1/9/1844 in Saxony, Germany emigrating to Wisconsin in 1853 with his parents and siblings. The 1860 census list Carl (15) living with his parents Frederic (66) and Caroline (48), siblings: Anton (20), Frederica (17), Amelia (6), Frederic (2) and Johanna (10 months) living in Herman, Sheboygan, WI. In 1870 Carl A married Sophia Ziesel in Sheboygan Co., WI. Sophia was born 9/10/1851 in Wisconsin. Sophie’s parents were Augustine (1813-1867) and Agatha (Steimie) (1825-1875) Ziesel. Carl (36) and Sophie (29) were living in Herman, Sheboygan WI according to the 1880 census with children: Bertha (9), John (7), August (6), Mina (4), Frederich (2) and Emma (8mo). The 1900 census lists Carl (56), Sophie (Laphia) (49), Fred (22), additional children Herman C (18) and Lena A (16) living in Herman, Sheboygan WI. Sophie passed on 3/28/1905, buried at Saron UCC Cemetery, Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan, WI alongside her husband, Carl who passed on 11/20/1909. This information was found at findagrave.com
