Lorenz, Anna (12 Jul 1848 - 28 Apr 1913)

Mrs. Anna Lorenz died at her home on Court St. in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Monday, April 28, 1913. Deceased, whose maiden name was Anna Wentzel, was born in Schlesing, Germany Jul 12, 1848. She came with her two sisters to Grafton, Wis., in 1871 and two years later they came to Neillsville. To them were born seven children, three of who survive, namely John, Bertha and Emil. Mr. Lorenz died in 1893. She leaves also two sisters, Mrs. Lye of Neillsville and Mrs. Carl Scharf of the town of Grant.

Mrs. Lorenz was a woman of rare Christian character, patient and kind, helpful not only to those of her own home and kindred, but also to all about her. In the fall she underwent a severe sickness, but rallied somewhat for a time, and then again for the last six weeks slowly declined. Through it all she kept up good courage, gentleness and patience. The keenest sympathy is felt in the community for the sons and daughter, and the sisters who are left to mourn. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. H. Brandt preaching the funeral sermon.

The family and the sisters wish to express their thanks for good will shown by the friends and neighbors, expressed in kind words and deeds and the many beautiful flowers.
