Safford, David L. (1835? - 7 Sep 1912)

David L. Safford, a former resident of this city (Neillsville, Clark Co.), died Sept. 7, 1912 at the National Soldier’s home at Marion, Ind., aged 77 years. He was a native of Ohio and served four years in the Civil War in an Ohio Regiment. He came to Mauston, Wis., in 1866 and to Clark County in 1869. For the last 25 years he was a resident of Minnesota.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. R.G. Malcolm of Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Chas. F. Trogner of Washington, D.C. Burial took place at the Home cemetery at Marion, Ind.

Old citizens, and especially the old soldiers here, will remember the deceased very well. He was a most estimable man.
