Bass, Lida I. (Marriage - 17 Augl 1910)

Mr. Wm. Meyers and Miss Lida I. Bass were married at the home of the bride’s parents in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 17, 1910, Rev. W.T. Hendren performing the ceremony in the presence of a company consisting of relatives and close friends. The bride’s sister, Miss Josie Bass, acted as bridesmaid and Ed F. Short was groomsman.

The bride wore cream silk and carried pink roses, and the bridesmaid wore pink and carried cream roses. The groom and groomsman wore the customary black. The rooms were tastily decorated with ferns, carnations and smilax, and over the bride and groom and their attendants was suspended a handsome wedding bell of smilax and sweet peas. The wedding march was played by Zura Fricke. After a sumptuous wedding dinner the bride and groom took the four o’clock train for St. Paul amidst congratulations, farewells, and the usual pleasantries.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Bass, was brought up here, was educated in our schools and has taught successfully for the past eight years. She has hosts of friends, not her alone, but also among her former pupils and patrons. The groom, whose original home was Merrillan, is now located at St. Paul. He is a railroad man and has a steady run from Altoona to St. Paul. Those who know him speak of him in the highest terms. They will live in St. Paul. We offer our best wishes for the prosperity of this new home.
