Johnson, Mary (23 Mar 1858 - 12 Apr 1909)

Mrs. Peter Johnson died at her home on Grand Av. (Neillsville, Clark County) at an early hour Monday morning, April 12, 1909, after a lingering illness.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Mary Postweiler, was born at Black River Falls, Wis., March 23, 1858. There she grew to womanhood and was married to Peter Johnson, Oct. 3, 1875. Two years later they moved to Neillsville, which has been their home ever since, except for a short residence in Florida. Mrs. Johnson’s life was devoted mostly to her home duties and interests. In later years her infirmities, as well as her tastes, confined her much of the time to her home and family, and yet she was ever appreciative of neighborly friendship. She was a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a consistent Christian, being a member of the Congregational Church of this city.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. George Rude and Mrs. Hans Carlson. She leaves also a sister and a brother to mourn her death. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock at the Congregational Church, Rev. H.A. Risser officiating.
