Ketchum, James H. (2 Jul 1827 - 26 May 1908)

James H. Ketchum died at his home on Grand Ave. (Neillsville, Clark County), Tuesday, May 26, 1908, after a lingering illness of about three years. Mr. Ketchum was born Jul 2, 1827 in the town of Woodbury, Woodstock Co., Vt. He moved with his parents when a small boy to Arcadia, N.Y. In 1850 he moved to Washington Co., Wis., where he settled on a farm. In 1855 he was married to Emeline White of Marion, Wayne Co., N.Y. They lived on their farm at West Bend, Wis., till 1887, when they sold their farm and moved to Fond du Lac, Wis., where they lived two years. They moved to Neillsville in 1890, and have made their home here ever since. Deceased leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. John Huntley of this city and two sons, E.J. Ketchum of Duluth, Minn., and L.O. Ketchum of South Milwaukee, Wis. He was a man of the old New England type, strong in constitution, industrious, honest and possessed of a keen intellect and a genial disposition. He leaves to his children, grandchildren and all who knew him the inheritance of a life well spent.

The funeral will take place this (Thursday) afternoon at two o’clock at the home, Rev. W.P. burrows officiating.
