Payne, Dessa (Marriage - 30 Jan 1907)

Mr. Frank Short and Miss Dessa Payne were married Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 1907, at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Short, in the town of Washburn, Clark County, Rev. D.H. Rohrabaugh officiating. Mr. Ed Short, the groom's cousin, acted as best man, and Miss Belle Payne, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid. There was a large gathering of relatives, neighbors and friends, and abundance of good will, and many fine presents bestowed. After the ceremony a bountiful wedding supper was served. The groom was born and grew up in Shortville, and shares the respect that comes to a most excellent family. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.S. Payne, of Washburn. They formerly lived in Neillsville, and the bride has in this city, as well as in the vicinity of her home, many friends and well wishers. The young couple will make their home at the groom's parents? for the present.
