The fourth annual Blessed Assurance Gospel Music Fest will be held a t Neillsville’s Clark County Fairgrounds Saturday June 18th at 10 a.m. Entertainment will be held indoors; admission is free.  Refreshments will be available to purchase.

A wide variety of family-oriented folk, bluegrass, southern/country gospel, old-time hymns, vocal a’cappella and blended vocal harmonies accompanied by various instruments, such as guitars, fiddles, mandolins, harmonicas, banjos and the musical saw will uplift spirits and soothe souls.

This year’s musical talent lineup includes five groups:

The Miller Family is a powerhouse family group from Gillette. Tennessee’s “Spirit Fest” inspired them; the family has traveled and performed throughout the country since 1996. The Miller Family has opened for notables The Crabb family, Jeff and Sheri Easter and The Perrys.

For His Glory of Owen includes Ervin and Ruth Witmer and their children. They convey an evangelistic message in blended four-part harmony in traditional/southern gospel style.  The message in their encouraging music is easy to understand – the Lord put a song in their hearts; He gets all the Glory.

The Glistening Stones of Black Creek includes Wendell and Sheila Lawrence and their 10 children.  Using their voices and a wide variety of instruments, the family desires to inspire, encourage and even bring a smile o the faces of their audiences as hey sing and testify of God and His life-giving ways. Their musical program is filled with variety ministering to all ages.

The Gary Froiland Band of Stewartville, MN, will perform. Gary started a bluegrass band in 1980.  Over the years, he and his family played many bluegrass festivals, banquets, churches, town-doings and other events.  Gary is now a solo musician, sharing his talent on the five-string banjo, guitar, bass, harmonica and the musical saw.

Cindy Begert of Neillsville will share her solo gospel talent.

Each group will perform for 30 minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon.  Voluntary offerings will be taken for the groups.

The fairground is located at 1120 East Division Street (USH 10). For more information, call Linda Holtz at 715-937-2669 or e-mail to lindahgparty@yahoo.com.
