The Girl’s Basket Ball team of Greenwood, WI
began its practice with Miss Thompson as coach. This team was not
organized in order to acquire the championship of the U. S. but mainly
for the benefit derived by way of exercise and enjoyment. All will
agree that we certainly received our share even if no regular games were
played. We didn’t accomplish much—but we had three accidents and
not every team can boast of such excellent playing as to injure its members.
Next year we hope to organize a fine amateur
team which will be a credit to our new schoolhouse-—and so make up for
our seemingly lack of interest in the Girl’s Athletics of this year.
A TOAST.
“Here’s to the purest and sweetest of pearls—
Here’s to our winning Athletic Girls.”
