Handke, Louise (15 June 1918 - 23 December 1983)

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, December 27, for Mrs. Lester (Louise) Handke, 85, who passed away in Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 23. The Rev. Howard Ott of the United Methodist Church officiated at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton, and burial was made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

The deceased was born on June 15, 1918, in Warner, N.D., to William and Josephine (Stone) Grade. On May 26, 1936, she married Lester Handke in the Town of Grant ceremonies. The couple moved to the southern part of the state. About 18 months ago, they moved to Neillsville, making their home at 105 West Seventh Street.

Surviving her, besides her husband, is a son, Duane, of Williams Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Riedel and Pearl Grade of Neillsville; four brothers, Clifford and Kenneth of Granton, Albert of Greenwood and Duane of Rockford, Illinois; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
