Richmond, William C. (18 January 1896 – 21 September 1982)

William C. Richmond, 96, a resident of Neillsville Memorial Home, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, at the Home.

The deceased was born on January 18, 1896, in Sheboygan County to Fayette and Harriet (Higby) Richmond. After receiving his education, he moved to Clark County at the age of 14 where he farmed in the Towns of Weston and Pine Valley. On June 24, 1912, he married Edna Shaw in Clark County ceremonies. He farmed in the Neillsville area until becoming a resident of Memorial Home in 1978.

Surviving him are two sons, Robert of Fennimore and Floyd of Royalton, Minnesota; Three daughters, Mrs. Fern Ackerman of Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Louis (Dorothy) Kretlow of Sussex and Mrs. Leslie (Birdine) Gruetzmacher of Louisville, Kentucky; and a sister, Mrs. Vivian (Mary) Carteron, Greenwood. Joining them are 14 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Harry, Jesse and Guy; and two sisters, Florence and Eunice.

Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville on Saturday morning, September 25, with the Rev. Howard Ott of the local United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
