Deja, Mary Ellen (21 August 1982)

Mary Ellen Deja of Neillsville and Robert Martin Nelson of Indianapolis, Indiana, were united in marriage in services held at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville on Saturday, August 21. The Rev. Wally Anderson officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Deja of River Falls and Delores Nelson and the late Roy Nelson of Lake Nebagamon.

Patty Deja, the bride’s sister of River Falls, was the maid of honor. Amy Gustafson, a friend from Milwaukee, was a bridesmaid. David Nelson, the groom’s brother of La Crosse, was bestman; he was joined by Curt Zuehlke of Neillsville, a friend. Ushering were Ed Privette of Black River Falls and Glen Hanson of Lake Nebagamon, both friends of the couple.

Special music was provided by Janet Skiff, Judy Heil, Midge Anderson and David Skiff. Following the service, a reception was held at the Neillsville Senior Citizens Center. The couple then left on a trip to Northern Minnesota.

The couple will make their home in Indianapolis. She holds a BS degree in elementary education from UW-River Falls and was a teacher in the Neillsville Schools for the past four years. Her husband has a BA degree in mathematics from Northland College in Ashland and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University. He is an electrical engineer for Bell Telephone Laboratories of Indianapolis.
