A former Town of Green Grove farmer, Walter L. Hake died Friday, November 5, 1976 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at age 83. Mr. Brian Kuehmichel officiated at service held Monday at the Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, and burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Hake married the former Helen Kohnhorst, who survives, on March 5, 1921 at Wausau. He retired from farming in 1961 and was affiliated with the Associated Bible Students.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Boneske, Wauwatosa, Mrs. Carl (Marie) Schmitt, Marshfield, a son, Roland Hake, Curtiss, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Herman Edith) Smith, Stanwood, Iowa.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
