Castle, Nora (5 November 1891 – 17 August 1982)

Graveside memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 27, in Oakwood Cemetery at Merrillan for Nora Castle, 90, who died Tuesday, August 17, in Orlando. Florida.

The former Nora Johnson was born November 5, 1891, in Merrillan to Jonas and Anna (Peterson) Johnson. She was a graduate of the Merrillan High School (class of 1909) and taught in several Jackson County Schools.

For many years she lived in Chicago and traveled throughout the Midwest wholesaling women’s clothing. She moved to the Orlando area about two years ago.

Survivors include three sisters, Beulah Christianson of Sioux City, Iowa, Florence Taylor of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Margaret Barron of Sun City, Arizona; one brother, Charles Johnson of Deland, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
