Bob Meerstein, of the Dorchester Fire Department received a plaque, September 8, 1975 for being named his departments “Fire Fighter of the Year.” With him at the ceremony were his fire chief, Richard Smith, Dorchester, and J.C. Meagher, Wisconsin Division Sales Manager, Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company. The ceremony at the Schlitz Clubhouse in Milwaukee, culminated a new awards program involving about 270 Wisconsin fire departments and sponsored by the Wisconsin Fire Chiefs Association, the Wisconsin Foremen’s Association and Schlitz.
