Schindler, Jayne (2 Aug 1975)

St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Abbotsford, was the setting, August 2, 1975 for the wedding of Jayne Schindler and Julian Jannene. The Rev. Emil Hodnik, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix of the United Church of Christ, Colby, performed the 1 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schindler, Curtiss, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jannene, Colby.

Phil Hokenson sand “Ave Maria” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The organist was Betty Decker.

The bride chose an empire styled gown of Venice lace with a matching Juliet full length veil She carried a cascade of yellow roses with baby’s breath.

Chris Steinmetz, Abbotsford was matron of honor. Mary Kunze, Abbotsford, friend of the bride, Peggy Schindler, Curtiss, sister of the bride, and Debbie Constantine, Eau Claire, another friend of the bride, were the attendants.

They wore yellow floral halter dresses with jackets and yellow picture hats. They carried a basket of yellow and apricot daisies.

Best man for the bridegroom was Kevin Steinmetz, Abbotsford. Ralph Jannene, Colby, brother of the bridegroom, and Fred Schindler, brother of the bride, and Brian Steinmetz, Colby, were groomsmen.

Ushers were Michael Schindler, Curtiss, and Dean Jannene, Colby.

Completing the wedding party were Tom Schindler, ring bearers, and Ann Krause, Prentice, flower girl.

A reception and dance at the Sword, Colby, followed a dinner at St. Bernard’s Hall.

Friends and relatives attended from Eau Claire, Chicago, Madison, Curtiss, Lake Mills, Milwaukee and Green Bay.

The bridegroom employed as a mechanic at the Galvin Tractor Company, graduated from Colby High School in 1971. The bride graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1972, and the College of Technical Institute, Eau Claire, in Cosmetology in 1973. She is employed as a beautician at the Carousel Beauty Salon, Wausau.
