Solie, Clarence O. (7 August 1897-11 February 1970)

Clarence O. Solie, 72, a resident of East Maple Street, Stanley, died
at his home Wednesday morning.

He was born in Eau Claire August 7, 1897, the son of Kristian and
Karen Solie. He came to Stanley as a young boy and his parents farmed
there. As a young man he moved to Stanley where he operated a garage
with repair and taxi service. For a few years he had a brick factory and
also worked as a machinist in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and at the
Stanley Corporation. He worked for the City of Stanley for two years,
retiring in September, 1969, due to poor health. He was married to Della
Boardman in 1929 and in 1942 to Dorothea Johnson. Dorothea died in 1958.

Mr. Solie is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Vivian) Bondach
of Stanley; one half-brother, John Thune, Cornell; two sisters, Mrs.
Katherine Wise of West Allis; and Mrs. Karl Carlson of Eau Claire' one
grandson. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and
one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at Our Savior's
Lutheran Church with Rev. Carl Peters officiating, Interment will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Plombon Funeral Home from Friday noon
until Saturday noon when it will be taken to the church. The casket will
be open until time of services.
