Bailke, Frieda (13 MAY 1898 – 3 MAY 1970)

Mrs. Frieda Bailke, 71, of 209 N. Second Street, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday afternoon, May 3, 1970 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

The body lay ins tate at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, until noon Wednesday, when it was taken to Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler conducted the services at one o'clock, after which interment was made in the cemetery at Braun Settlement (Forest Hill in town of Warner), Greenwood.

Mrs. Bailke, the former Frieda Zastrow, was born May 13, 1898, town of Deer Creek, Taylor County. She received her education at the Green Acres School, Stetsonville.

She and August Bailke were married May 8, 1920 at Medford. They farmed in Taylor County and several places in Clark County until 1958. Mr. Bailke died in April 1954.

Mrs. Bailke moved to Abbotsford in 1958.

She was a member of the Ladies' Aid of Christ Lutheran Church.

Surviving her are two sons, Leroy Bailke of Greenwood, and Marvin Bailke of North Carolina, and three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Bernice) Nacker of route 1, Colby, Mrs. Bernard (Genevieve) Fry of Montgomery City, Missouri, and Mrs. Clifford (Beatrice) Winter of Neillsville.

There are four grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, Albert Zastrow of Medford, and six sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Ramm of Medford, Mrs. Bert (Elsie) Oenes of Sturgeon Bay, Mrs. Lee (Helen) Haskins of Prentice, Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Kayhart of Colby, and Mrs. Walter (Esther) Pagel of Stetsonville.

Besides her husband, seven children preceded her in death. Her parents and two brothers are also deceased.
