Tresemer, Edward E.(23 March 1932 – 28 February 2019) With Flag

Edward E. Tresemer, 86, of Neillsville, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Edward was born March 23, 1932, to the late Hattie (Reetz) and Emil Tresemer in the Town of Pine Valley. Ed graduated from Neillsville High School – Class of 1950. Ed joined the United States Navy and served his country for four years, during the Korean War. On June 1, 1957, Ed married Nancy J. Holt at the Methodist Church in Neillsville. After returning from serving his country, Ed was employed at the Neillsville Dairy Plant and later at Walls Service Station. He was later employed for 26 1/4 years at the Public Works Department with the city of Neillsville. Ed retired in 1997.

His passions were hunting, fishing, gardening and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy; three children: Judy (Dennis) Buchholz, Tim (Lori) Tresemer of Neillsville and Diane (Tom) Firnstahl of Colby; nine grandchildren: Jill, Dustin, Jenny, Kristine, Tiffany, Eric, Amy, Pam and Josh; 13 great-grandchildren: Colton, Tyler, Andrew, Evan, Leah, Zoey, Natalie, Fletcher, Baylee, Alexis, Makayla, Ben and Landon. He is further survived by two sisters: Dorothy (Jim) Schultz and Carol Jean Opelt of Neillsville and a brother-in-law, John Gates of Black River Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and David Lewis; his parents, Hattie and Emil Tresemer; one grandson, Kurtis Tresemer; and five siblings: Susan (Everett) Skroch, Evelyn (henry) Brown, Lucy Gates, Gertie (Ray) Hutchinson and Rollie (Lucy) Tresemer; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Opelt.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Apple Valley Restaurant for Edward E. and Nancy Jean Tresemer.
