Franklin “Frank” Joseph Schoen Jr., 67, died Jan. 23, 2019, while wintering in Yuma, AZ. Frank loved riding, ATV’s, fishing, practice shooting and playing pool.
Frank was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Neillsville, the son of Franklin Sr. and Lila Schoen. He spent his childhood learning the intricacies of running a dairy farm, fixing equipment and hunting.
Frank served his country in the Navy before moving to Colorado where he worked as a top diesel mechanic in the mining industry. He owned several cattle ranches on the western slopes while raising a large family.
Frank leaves behind four biological children, Melissa Schoen, Kimberly Priebe (Schoen) Franklin Schoen, Jr., and Jonathon Schoen from his first marriage, and a stepdaughter, Stefani Chinery (Bailey), from his 26-year marriage to Teresa Schoen. Teresa passed away May 31, 2017, and her passing was especially hard on Frank. Teresa provided stability, nurturing and humor to her family and friends. Teresa would accompany Frank on many adventures. Teresa was well known for her talent with quilting and sewing. Frank and Teresa will rest in peace together.
A memorial will be held in Rifle, CO, Friday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at the unite Methodist Presbyterian Church (200 E 4th St.) with the burial at Rosehill Cemetery (777 Birch Avenue) at 2 p.m.
