Stewart, Guy (8 DEC 1887 – 10 AUG 1974)

Guy Stewart, a responsible businessman and farmer in this community for many years, died Saturday, August 10, 1974 at the Colonial House at Colby, where he had been a resident for the past several years.

He was 86 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 12, 1974 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, with Rev. Robert Sullivan being in charge of the service. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Harold Stewart, Ricky Stewart, Arnie Stewart, Terry Stewart, Jim Stewart, and John Strohkirch.

Mr. Stewart was born December 8, 1887 in New Sharon, Iowa. On November 17, 1909 he was united in marriage to the former Anna Johnson in a ceremony performed at Whelcheet, Iowa.

He was a farmer and cattle buyer in the Owen-Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community for many years, and retired from business in 1965, when his son Leo took over, and at that time he and his wife moved to Withee, where he made his home until several years ago, when his health ailed and they moved to the Colonial House in Colby.

He is survived by his wife Ann; four sons, Forrest Stewart, Withee; Dale Stewart, Mandan, North Dakota; Earl Stewart, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Leo Stewart, Withee; one daughter, Mrs. William (Hazel) Fahrenbach, Colby; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
