Pine Valley Center (1933)

The Bissel family and Mrs. Ed Hubbard spent Sunday at the Blau farm with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Landgraf and family.

Mrs. Otto Dux treated all hospital patients Sunday with a fine tart cake and a freezer full of delicious homemade ice cream.

Fred Mohr’s family, Chris Mohr’s family and Arthur Berger spent Thursday eve at Herman Gehrt’s.

Wm. Keller took Mrs. Fred Payson and Angeline to Fairchild Saturday after their visit with relatives. They will move to Minot, N. Dak., Tuesday to make their future home.

Dr. Al Blum and wife of Shawano and Mrs. Kate Palmer called to visit the Palmer children Sunday afternoon.

Wendell Palmer has moved back home after spending two months at his grandmother’s while his family had scarlet fever.

Mrs. Flick and Mrs. Ed Hubbard went to W.R.C. Saturday for the regular meeting.

Mrs. Dave Williams of Granton spent the week with Mrs. Hubbard. She and Mrs. John Walters helped paper at Hubbard’s.

LaFayette Oldham finished hauling wood to Silver Crest School. He called at Wightman’s Saturday.

Alice Heintz went to Greenwood on Saturday afternoon to work at Earl Rhodes for a few weeks.

Marian Dux is getting along fine at the Neillsville Hospital. Nearly all her little school friends have visited her during her during her stay at the hospital and have brought her flowers, fruit and candy.

Ed Mashin has a job near Great Falls, Montana.

Andrew Wightman called on Bob Quinnell Sunday morning.

Andrew Wightman, Len Forderbruck, Jack Shortess and Emil Tresemer went fishing at Hatfield Sunday afternoon.

The Mohr boys Chris and Fred and Leslie Cook and Andrew Wightman went fishing near the mouth of Wedges Creek and got 24 nice fish.

Roy and Fanny Chase, Wm. and Amanda Gehrt spent Sunday eve with the Herman Gehrt family.

Mrs. Arthur Berger and children spent the week end with the home folks.

Mrs. Emil Tresemer and children spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. C. Mohr.

Mrs. John Walters and Mrs. Wm . Keller spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Ed Hubbard.

Mrs. C. Wightman spent Thursday with the Herman Gehrt family and her son came over to supper and spent the evening.

Miss Emma Gehrt was called home from her work in Milwaukee on account of her mother’s serious illness and death. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.

Miss Amanda Gehrt came from Milwaukee for her aunt, Mrs. Herman Gehrt’s funeral.
